By law, the Los Angeles County Fire Department mandates that we undergo an Annual Reg 4 Testing of the building’s fire warning systems to ensure the safety of our residents. As mentioned, this is not optional and our compliance is required.
As you may recall, this test was performed January of this year. The Association engaged Red Hawk Fire and Security to perform this testing which was completed and accepted by the City. The vendor’s testing procedures were questioned by a concerned resident. Red Hawk has agreed to redo the testing no cost to the Association. Red Hawk will require access to your unit, so it is essential that you be available to provide access to your unit or that someone else can provide access.
Reg 4 testing has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 23rd, 2019, beginning at 5:00 pm. Red Hawk will start with the 1st floor and work their way up. Testing should only take a couple of hours and we plan on being completed by 8:00 pm.
YOU MUST EITHER BE HOME TO PROVIDE ACCESS OR ARRANGE ACCESS.
Part of the testing involves alarm testing and to ensure that the mini-horn within the buildings are functioning, so please be aware that during this time. There will be loud sirens for a period of time. Elevators will also be out of service during this time as they will be undergoing inspections and testing as well. Inspectors will need access to each home to check the horns and sprinklers.
The Board is aware of the inconvenience that this may cause. If you are not available or do not coordinate access on this date, you will be required to pay the vendor to come back and check your home. Red Hawk must have access into each unit in order for testing to be complete.
Please keep in mind:
Alarms will sound intermittently during the testing time
Inspectors will need access to all units where alarm/sprinkler devices are located (i.e. closets, bathrooms)
